Just like in the song, it’s a Long and Winding Road – that hopefully will eventually lead to somewhere!

There’s a lot of measuring, very accurately, with a vernier and then test printing. In this case because the text wasn’t right, I used a different font and a different font size then printed what I thought would be the final cap.
Obviously, my print was not the right size because it was too large for the cam opening, and this is because I used a tape measure andnot the Vernier.… Lesson learned!Back to the drawing board adjusting the diameter of the flange and printing it with slightly different text.It now fits nice and snuggly into this version of the cam opening on one of my various Husqvarnas.I now need to make a model of the square version which sits on the outside and then another square version which is recessed into the machine. Clearly every model and make of this machine has a different cover and it’s never just one model fits all!

I am however very happy with the outcome and dust will not collect in the machine when the cams are removed.

Now when somebody wants to charge you £10 for a simple looking dust cap for your machine, you’ll know why. ??
Happy Sewing!
